Coming of Age Ceremony

  • The Coming-of-age Ceremony is designed to help parents and their early teenage children celebrate the transition of childhood to adulthood. There are many groups throughout history that have celebrated this rite of passage. (e.g., Bar Mitzvah in the Jewish culture). Some choose a 13th birthday party as the natural setting for such a ceremony.
  • We provide guidance for such an important time through Martti Pajunen’s book, “The Thirteenities: leading tweens to lives of greatness and goodness” available on and
  • A Coming-of-Age Ceremony Planning guide is also available upon request.
